Game FAQ

This page collects the most-searched Bomb Farm questions and answers them using confirmed in-game behavior. Every answer is based on what the live client shows, what Steam patch notes published, or what launch-week testers reported. Nothing here is invented.

If your question is not on this page, try the relevant hub: Getting Started for install and first-clear questions, How to Play for the idle loop, Steam Market for trading, or the Updates Hub for patch-specific changes.

Account and Setup

How do I link my BombFarm account to Steam?

Launch the Bomb Farm client and look for the account link option in settings or the main menu. You will need a BombFarm account if you do not have one. The link allows your progress to sync with the Steam-associated profile. If you are on a shared computer, make sure you are using your own Steam account before linking.

Does Bomb Farm require constant internet connection?

Yes. The BombFarm account is online-only and your progress syncs in real time. Closing the client without saving produces no data loss — the client auto-saves — but you cannot play offline. Broadband is listed in the system requirements.

Can I play on multiple devices with the same account?

Your progress is tied to the BombFarm account that is linked to your Steam profile. You can install the client on multiple devices and log into the same account, but running two clients simultaneously from the same account may flag as abuse, especially if both are active in Battle at the same time.

Is Bomb Farm available on mobile or console?

At launch, Bomb Farm is Windows PC only via Steam. No mobile or console version has been announced.

Battle and Gameplay

Why do my heroes stop working mid-run?

Energy ran out or heroes are dying too fast. Check the dock — if portraits are grey or missing, energy is depleted. Swap in a fresh squad from House. If fresh heroes also vanish quickly, the difficulty may be too high for your current gear. Lower the star or add a Support to keep the squad alive.

What is the difference between Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Inferno?

Each difficulty is a separate star on the same Map world. Easy teaches the stage layout. Normal is the main progression tier. Hard introduces real gear checks. Very Hard requires +10 gear and balanced squads. Inferno is the achievement tier that most players reach months after launch. Details: World Progression.

How do I save my progress?

The client auto-saves continuously. There is no manual save button and no risk of losing progress by closing unexpectedly. Use the confirmation button when exiting to confirm your session has been recorded.

What happens if I close the game while Battle is running?

Your progress up to the last auto-save is preserved. When you relaunch, the Map pin will be at the last completed node, not at the node you were mid-run on when you closed.

Are there timed stages?

Yes. Timed stages appear as locked gates on the Map and require a key to enter. Keys are consumed on entry. The Steam achievement list confirms a timed gate at Stage 10. Keys come in five rarities matching the five difficulty tiers. See Worlds for the key breakdown.

What is Beat the Clock?

Beat the Clock is a timed challenge achievement. It is the only Bomb Farm achievement that requires actual input speed. Normal Battle is untimed. Do not confuse the achievement with standard gameplay. See Controls.

Energy and Squads

How many squads do I need?

Three. The game is designed around a Farm squad, a Climb squad, and a Spare squad. Rotating between them keeps Battle running while heroes recover in House. See Energy Rotation.

What House upgrades should I get first?

Recovery speed if you already have enough heroes to form a second dock. Max hero slots if you cannot yet form a second dock at all. Both upgrades make the three-squad rotation possible. Do not spend on rarity collection bars before these two are at a level that works for you.

How does Skip work?

Skip restores a hero’s energy immediately. Originally a VIP feature, it became available to all players in the August 24 playtest. Skip only returns a hero to the field if the hero is set to fight. If the hero is resting in House, Skip restores energy but keeps them in the capsule.

Progression and Farming

When should I switch from Easy to Normal difficulty?

After you clear all twenty nodes on Easy in the current world. Do not force Normal before you have a second dock and gear that can survive meaner grids. See Progression.

What world should I be on after the first week?

Most launch-week players who followed the guides cleared Dawn Quarry on Easy and were working through Deep Roots by the end of week one. If you are still in Dawn Quarry, that is fine — Easy is a teaching track, not a race.

How do I get more gold fast?

Run a Collector-heavy farm squad on Easy overnight. The Fortune ability on a Collector amplifies gold income for the whole team. Higher difficulty stages yield more gold per node but also have higher failure risk. Farm the highest difficulty your squad can clear without wiping.

Should I fuse my duplicate heroes?

Only fuse true duplicates of heroes you already have one of that you intend to keep. Never fuse your last Collector, your last Support, or any hero you have not yet identified in Ritual. Fusion rules: Fusion.

Steam Market

How do I access the Steam Market?

Market access unlocks after completing Stage 5-10 on the Map OR while your VIP Pass is active. Once unlocked, you can list identified equipment for sale. The September 2026 patch reinforced validation checks — you cannot list without meeting one of those conditions.

What can I sell on the Market?

Identified equipment with desirable affixes. Sealed drops cannot be listed — they must be revealed in Ritual first. The preview added in the September 2026 patch shows whether chest contents are tradable before you open them.

Can I buy items with real money?

The Steam Market trades items for Steam Wallet funds, not directly for cash. Prices are set by sellers. Stream On does not sell items directly. The Market is player-to-player.

What happens to my listings if a season resets power?

Unknown. Steam listings often persist independently of in-game resets. Wait for the patch notes before assuming anything.

VIP and Premium

Is VIP worth it?

VIP is worth it if you leave the client pinned for long idle sessions and want the doubled return bonus (+100% vs +50%), want the Farm Analyzer to optimize your roster, or need Market access as a backup. It is not worth it if you are early-game and have not reached Stage 5-10 yet — just push the Map and unlock Market for free.

Does VIP give power advantages?

No. VIP does not boost damage, defense, or unlock exclusive gear. All advantages are convenience and economy features.

Troubleshooting

The Map pin will not move. What do I do?

Lower the difficulty star. If Easy still stalls, your squad may need better gear in Ritual, more heroes in House, or ability ranks raised on the heroes you are sending. Check the tier list for squad composition ideas.

My heroes keep dying on Hard. How do I fix this?

Add a Support hero to keep the squad alive. Raise the Support’s sustain abilities (Miner’s Stamina, Extra Battery). Check whether your equipment is below +8 — that is the recommended minimum for Hard. See Hero Roles.

I fused the wrong hero. Can I undo it?

Fusion is likely irreversible in the client. This is why the fusion guide says never fuse your last copy of any role. If you fused a hero you still need, submit feedback to Stream On through the Steam Community or the client.

The client runs slowly on my computer.

Check the system requirements. Bomb Farm is built in Godot and is generally well-optimized, but integrated graphics or a full SSD may cause issues. Try pinning the window to a dedicated monitor and closing background applications.
