World Progression Guide

Bomb Farm’s campaign is a vertical map divided into five named worlds. Each world has twenty node bars and five difficulty tiers. Clear all twenty nodes on Easy in World 1 to unlock Normal, then Hard, then Very Hard, then Inferno. The fifth and final difficulty in World 5 is where the Map ends, and that is when you stop chasing stages and start farming them.

This guide is the world-by-world reference for the Map tab. Stage counts, difficulty gates, and timed stage rules are covered here. Detailed progression advice including gear checks and role recommendations lives on progression.

World 1 — Dawn Quarry

The first world and the tutorial track. Dawn Quarry teaches the basics: what a node looks like, how the Map pin moves, how to consume a key on a timed gate, and how House recovery feels when energy runs dry. The UI at launch showed this world already cleared on Easy in store screenshots.

Name in-game (Portuguese): Pedreira do Amanhecer Difficulty unlock: Easy by default, Normal unlocks after 20/20 on Easy Stage range: Approximately 1–120 across all difficulties Recommended difficulty: Easy until House has Uncommon capsules; Normal once you have a second squad

World 2 — Deep Roots

The first real farm world. Deep Roots introduces resin veins, free-stone counters, and longer nodes that require a Collector to bank efficiently. The Map pin stalls here most often because players run all-Attacker squads and collect nothing.

Name in-game (Portuguese): Raízes Profundas Difficulty unlock: Unlocks after World 1 Easy clear Stage range: Approximately 121–240 across all difficulties Recommended difficulty: Easy for resource farming, Normal for progression Key feature: First appearance of meaningful sealed drop layers

World 3 — Deep Glacier

The ice world. Deep Glacier introduces slower break speeds, ice-themed tiles that affect movement and bomb placement, and stronger enemies that require a Support to survive. This is where the game stops being easy.

Name in-game (Portuguese): Geleira Profunda Difficulty unlock: Unlocks after World 2 Easy clear Stage range: Approximately 241–360 across all difficulties Recommended difficulty: Normal for map push, Hard once gear is +8 or higher Key feature: Ice tiles that slow movement; requires Attackers with sustain

World 4 — Iron Depths

The gear wall. Iron Depths is where the game stops forgiving under-forged equipment. The name is not metaphorical. If your primary squad is still wearing +4 pieces, this world will stall on every node regardless of hero levels or ability ranks.

Name in-game (Portuguese): Entranhas de Ferro Difficulty unlock: Unlocks after World 3 Easy clear Stage range: Approximately 361–480 across all difficulties Recommended difficulty: Hard minimum, Very Hard once gear reaches +10 Key feature: High-defense enemies; Penetration abilities and Breach aura become essential

World 5 — Crystal Abyss

The final world. Crystal Abyss is where the Map ends. Clearing all twenty nodes on Inferno in Crystal Abyss is the campaign cap; the achievement for this is listed among launch achievements alongside Living Legend, Myth, and Ceiling.

Name in-game (Portuguese): Abismo Cristalino Difficulty unlock: Unlocks after World 4 Easy clear Stage range: Approximately 481–600 across all difficulties Recommended difficulty: Very Hard for progression, Inferno for achievement push Key feature: Final campaign stage; all difficulty tiers available for farming after clear

Timed gates and key consumption

Every difficulty has timed gates that require a key to enter. The key is consumed on entry. At launch, a Steam achievement confirmed a timed gate at Stage 10.

Keys by difficulty:

  • Easy: Uncommon key (white border)
  • Normal: Rare key (blue border)
  • Hard: Epic key (purple border)
  • Very Hard: Legendary key (orange border)
  • Inferno: Mythic key (red border)

The Map shows key balance in the UI. Run out of keys and you cannot enter timed stages until you earn more through normal play or the Market.

Difficulty tiers explained

Each world has five difficulty tiers, named and starred on the right panel of the Map:

  • 1 star / Easy (Fácil) — Learn the world. Gear checks are minimal.
  • 2 stars / Normal — The progression tier. Most players spend the most time here.
  • 3 stars / Hard (Difícil) — First real gear check. +8 recommended on equipped pieces.
  • 4 stars / Very Hard (Muito Difícil) — Requires full +10 gear and a balanced squad.
  • 5 stars / Inferno — The achievement tier. Not a difficulty for casual farming.

Raising the difficulty star without the gear to match is the most common stall point in Bomb Farm. Lower the star, clear the bar, upgrade in Ritual, return.

When to move between worlds

Do not rush the world counter. Clear the current world on Easy before opening Normal. Clear Normal before opening Hard. Each difficulty tier in a world is a separate gear check. A clear on Easy with +4 gear does not prepare you for Hard with the same +4 gear.

The progression guide has a recommended climb order with specific gear milestones. Use it. The Map will not move faster by forcing higher difficulties.

World-specific role recommendations

World 1 (Dawn Quarry): Mixed squad with 2 Attackers, 1 Collector, 1 Support. Learn roles here. World 2 (Deep Roots): Collector-heavy for overnight farming. Energy management matters. World 3 (Deep Glacier): Support-heavy. Ice tiles require sustain. World 4 (Iron Depths): Attacker-heavy with Penetration abilities. Breach and Diamond Tip become essential. World 5 (Crystal Abyss): Full balanced squad. All roles matter at this stage.

Farming versus progression

After clearing a world on Easy, most players switch to Normal for resource farming. The drop rates and gold income are better on higher difficulties, but only if the squad can clear consistently without wiping. A wipe on Inferno costs more in energy and time than a clean run on Normal.

When in doubt, farm the highest difficulty your squad can clear without wiping. That is the optimal resource rate.
