Bomb Farm Hero Roles
Four jobs on the grid: break, sustain, vacuum, and weird.
Every Bomb Farm hero claims one of four jobs in the official copy: Attacker, Support, Collector, Specialist. The dock under Battle does not care about your favorite pixel. It cares whether the current grid needs rocks broken, bodies kept alive, loot vacuumed, or a specialist trick. This page is the mix guide. Rankings by Map slice live on the tier list.
If you do not yet have three bodies, finish Getting Started and park whatever dropped in House. Roles start to matter when the second squad exists.
Attacker
Attackers exist to make the next node die. Deep Roots at 19/20, a yellow check that will not appear, a rock layer that outlives your patience — that is an Attacker problem. Put them in front on the dock. Give them the Ritual pieces that mention damage, blast, or crit if those words show up. Rank the 1–10 abilities that match the tooltip, not the loot skill that looked shiny.
An all-Attacker squad is a common first mistake. They clear a screenshot and bank nothing. Pair at least one Collector before you call the farm “fast.”
Support
Supports are the reason a mean tile does not wipe the dock while you are in a meeting. They are easy to underrate on Easy, then mandatory when you touch Hard. If heroes disappear from the dock before energy should have ended, you are seeing deaths, not only fatigue. Add a Support, raise their sustain ranks, and stop blaming House for a wipe.
Supports still want a little damage so they are not dead weight on farm nodes. They do not want your only +10 necklace if an Attacker is holding the Map pin.
Collector
Collectors are the idle part of an idle RPG. Gold, sealed drops, resin veins, free-stone counters — if the grid prints those words, a Collector should be on the walk. Launch Battle shots show mixed docks for a reason. A Collector with vacuum-like text is worth more on overnight Easy than a fourth bomber who looks cooler in the header art.
Do not fuse your last Collector because an Attacker duplicate is crying in Inventory. Fusion will say the same thing with more warnings.
Specialist
Specialists are the leftovers that are not leftovers. Their tooltips do something the other three roles do not. Play that thing. If the tooltip is a break-armor bomb, they are a key for Iron Depths, not a fake Attacker. If the tooltip is a chest magnet, they are a farm Specialist, not a failed Collector.
Until the studio publishes a full named roster, we will not assign fake proper names to Specialists. Hover, read, gear on-role.
Mixes that actually run
First Easy squad: 2 Attackers, 1 Collector, 1 Support, and whatever else you own. Ugly is fine.
Overnight farm: 2 Collectors, 1 Attacker, 1 Support. You want the chest counter to move, not a speedrun ghost.
Star-up attempt: 3 Attackers, 1 Support, 1 Specialist who matches the node. If it fails in two minutes, drop the star. Progression.
Three-team conveyor: Squad A farm, squad B climb, squad C leftover energy. Details on energy and the squad planner.
The squads tier writes these mixes as ranks. This page is the ruleset those ranks use.
Ability ranks, again
Twenty abilities at ten ranks is a trap for completionists. Rank two or three abilities per hero, the ones the role already is. Gold you spend here is gold you do not spend on House slots. House slots create more heroes. More heroes create more ranks. Do not invert that.
The account skill tree is a different spend. It buffs whoever is in Battle. Roles decide who that is.
Common mix errors
- Four portraits of the same bomber because the header art is cute.
- Zero Collectors on a resin node.
- Zero Supports on Hard, then a Reddit post that House is broken.
- Specialists wearing Attacker +10 because red borders look serious.
- Selling the off-role Rare on Market before squad C exists.
Fix the mix, then ask the early-game tier list who to promote. Roles first, names later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What are the Bomb Farm hero roles?
Attacker, Support, Collector, and Specialist. Mix them; do not run four of one job.
Which role is best?
None. Farm wants Collectors. Stalls want Attackers. Hard wants Supports. See the tier list for Map context.
Can one hero cover two roles?
Only if the tooltip says so. Gear can lean a Specialist toward farm or climb, but the role tag is still the job.
How many of each role on a squad?
Start 2-1-1 Attacker-Collector-Support. Overnight farm flips toward Collectors. Planner: squad planner.
