How to Play Bomb Farm

The daily loop that keeps three squads in the mine.

How to Play

Bomb Farm plays like a pinned widget, not like a full-screen ARPG. You set a squad, you let Battle chew a grid of rocks and veins, and you return to spend what dropped. The skill is not last-hitting. The skill is keeping a team on the field while another team recovers in House.

If the client is not installed yet, go back to Getting Started. This page assumes Dawn Quarry has already opened.

The eight tabs

The live header is a gold counter plus mail, trophies, pin, and settings. The live footer is eight rooms:

  • Inventory — bag of drops, potions, and sealed items waiting for Ritual.
  • Heroes — roster, roles, and ability ranks. Roles in the store copy are Attacker, Support, Collector, and Specialist, with 20 abilities that each rank from 1 to 10.
  • Battle — the idle grid. Bombers walk, explode rocks, and pick veins such as resin while a stage timer ticks.
  • Ritual — forge, altar, sealed-drop reveal, star fusion. This is where +0 gear starts the walk toward +15.
  • Abilities — the account-wide skill tree. See Skill Tree.
  • Map — five worlds, a node path, and five difficulty stars. See Progression.
  • House — capsules, rarity bars, recovery speed, max hero slots.
  • Market — Steam Community Market listings. See Steam Market.

You will live in Battle, House, and Ritual. Map is a planning screen. Market is a valve you open only when a drop is truly spare.

The idle loop, written as a sentence

Pick Easy or the highest star you can clear without stalling. Send squad A into Battle. When energy falls and the dock starts thinning, swap to squad B (Steam copy says you can switch between three teams). Park squad A in House capsules so recovery speed can work. Spend gold and duplicates in Ritual. Tick one or two skill-tree nodes if a bottleneck is real. Go back to the Map only when a world bar is actually ready to move.

That sentence is the whole game. Everything else is a modifier on it.

What Battle is doing while you look away

The grid is a small tactics board, not an open world. Trees and rocks are obstacles and loot. Colored veins are named resources; launch screenshots show resin veins and a free-stone counter. Enemies and chests appear as the stage label climbs. Your squad composition matters because Collectors vacuum value, Attackers break the next wall, Supports keep the line alive, and Specialists cover awkward tiles. Role routing lives on hero roles.

Battle does not need perfect micro. Steam tags the product as playable at your own pace and playable without timed input. The Beat the Clock achievement proves a timed challenge exists, but it is an optional badge, not the default loop.

Energy is the real stamina bar

Community testers and launch UI agree on the same constraint: heroes do not farm forever on a single body. House shows recovery speed as an upgrade, which only makes sense if energy is a resource. Build three teams even if two of them are ugly. A weak second squad that can hold Easy is more valuable than a perfect first squad that sits in a capsule for an hour. The energy page and the squad planner turn that into a checklist.

Power that is not a new hero

When Battle slows, the reflex is to fuse or buy. Official copy is blunt: they do not sell power or loot boxes, and rare items can go to the Steam Market. Your honest power buttons are:

  1. Ritual upgrades on the pieces you actually wear.
  2. Skill-tree nodes that unlock gold, slots, or the next Map gate.
  3. A better role mix, not a random higher rarity.
  4. A difficulty you can finish, not a star you can start.

The tier list exists so you stop putting a Collector in an Attacker slot. The gear guide exists so you stop slamming every potion into the first bomber you like.

A sane session

Fifteen minutes: swap the tired squad, queue Battle, claim mail. The developer has already used mailbox drops for surprises and new characters, so check it.

One hour: Ritual a sealed drop, spend a handful of skill points, glance at Map. If Deep Roots is 19/20, finish the bar before you open Glacier.

Overnight: leave Easy or Normal running on the squad with the most energy. Pin the overlay. Confirm Steam Cloud is on so a crash does not eat the night.

What not to do

Do not treat Bomb Farm as a crypto client. It is a Steam F2P game with Steam Wallet listings. Some launch reviews mention older bomber games for nostalgia; that is flavor, not the economy model.

Do not raise Inferno because a friend screenshotted a 5-star badge. Inferno is a starred challenge with a matching achievement. It is end-of-track content.

Do not list your only Rare on Market because gold looks large. Gold counters in screenshots already sit in the billions; a missing role will stall you harder than a missing zero.

When the loop feels solved, you are ready for progression and a harder star — not for a third currency.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I play Bomb Farm in one sentence?

Run Battle on a squad that still has energy, rest the others in House, and spend drops in Ritual and the skill tree.

How many teams should I keep?

Three, matching the store copy. Even a rough second squad beats an empty dock. See energy rotation.

Is combat real-time or turn-based?

Battle is automated on a grid. You set the squad and difficulty; the client walks and bombs without timed inputs for normal clears.

Where do I spend gold first?

House recovery and Ritual on equipped pieces. The skill tree is next if a node is gating slots or gold.
