Bomb Farm Review
A launch-week look at the idle overlay, the Market, and the long Map.
Bomb Farm launched on Steam on 28 August 2026 as a free-to-play idle RPG from Stream On, a Brazilian studio shipping a Godot client. All-time Steam reviews sat Very Positive in the first days after 28 August 2026, at 93% of 90 user reviews. That is a weather report, not a career. A crowd that already knew the alpha and beta is doing most of the scoring. This page is a launch-week review for people who want to know whether to pin the overlay, not a score-out-of-ten widget. A PT-BR creator first-look exists on YouTube; we do not embed it here because launch notes already carry that clip. The first post-launch Steam news is Marketplace Open — a temporary all-player window, not a new game.

What it is
You pin a small window over the desktop. A squad of pixel miners bombs a grid of rocks and veins. Gold goes up. Sealed drops go to Ritual. The Map has five worlds — Dawn Quarry through Crystal Abyss — and five starred difficulties from Easy to Inferno. Official copy lists 600 stages and months of progression. Combat is single-player and automated. Other humans appear on the Steam Community Market.
It feels like a taskbar gadget with a Path of Exile-shaped skill tree glued to the back. That sentence will either make you install it or close the tab. Both reactions are reasonable.
What works
The posture is honest. Steam tagged mouse-only, keyboard-only, play at your own pace, save anytime, and no timed input for normal clears. Launch players already leave it running while they work. The eight tabs are readable. House capsules make the three-team promise physical. Ritual’s blacksmith, altar, and capsule faces look like a real workshop instead of a generic upgrade arrow.
The economy pitch is also honest on paper: no loot boxes, they do not sell power, rares go to Steam Market. For a studio whose community still remembers older bomber games, that pitch matters. Several launch reviews said this is what those games should have felt like — a game that does not trip its users. We are not going to turn that nostalgia into a crypto article. This is a Steam F2P title with Steam Wallet listings.
Progression looks long on purpose. Testers who sat beta said a lucky Rare did not skip the Map. Account skills such as gold and slots are expensive. That is the correct shape for “600 stages.”
What grates
The first-week Steam score is still a small sample. Very Positive on 90 reviews is a weather report, not a career. Launch notes are mixed: many players like the overlay-while-you-work loop; some call the art ugly, or treat Market as the real goal; server and login friction exists. Insult-only reviews are not the wiki voice. Chinese and Portuguese notes already argue about whether crystals and a monthly pack are too expensive. Official policy can refuse to sell damage and still ship a convenience SKU that feels like a subscription. If you hate that shape, wait. If you are fine ignoring the shop, the loop still runs.
The client needs a BombFarm account and broadband even though Battle is single-player. That is extra login friction. Multi-account warnings around the Market are necessary and also a sign that the economy will be poked.
There is no public named roster yet, so every streamer tier list is a tooltip recap. This wiki refuses to invent one. See the tier list hub.
Inferno, Beat the Clock, and Full Ritual are achievement names that will bait people into playing a twitch game the store did not ship. Normal play is idle. Those badges are optional spice.
Who it is for
You will like Bomb Farm if you want a pinned idle RPG, three squads, a real forge, and a Map that does not end on Sunday. You will like it if Steam Market flipping is a side hobby, not the product.
You will not like it if you wanted a shared Battle grid (Steam lists single-player only), a story-driven RPG, or a Roblox code list. You will not like it if you need named heroes on day one. You will not like it if “months of progression” sounds like a threat.
Verdict
Install it. Pin it. Clear Dawn Quarry on Easy. Build a House conveyor using the getting started checklist. If the overlay still makes you smile after two evenings, invest in Ritual and the skill tree. If it does not, uninstalling a F2P overlay is free — which is more than some idle games can say.
For launch patches and season talk, use Updates. For hardware, use system requirements. This review will age; the Map will not shrink.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Bomb Farm worth installing at launch?
Yes if you like pinned idle RPGs. Start with Getting Started and decide after Dawn Quarry, not after a streamer clip.
Is Bomb Farm pay-to-win?
Official copy says no loot boxes and no selling power. Optional IAP exists. Play the Market as overflow, not as a wallet.
Does it have multiplayer?
Steam lists single-player. Trading is the Steam Community Market.
Is this a Roblox or crypto game?
No. It is a Steam idle RPG. Some players mention older bomber games for nostalgia only.
